Manipur Unrest: Koutruk attacked

As per sources, the Kuki militants carried out their attack from Haraothel and Bethel areas in Kangpokpi district.

Kuki militants attacked Koutruk village under Lamshang Police Station, Imphal West by firing gunshots on Friday around 9.20 pm amid the prevailing election related tensions in Manipur.

Personnel of the 3rd IRB and 7th MR also retaliated to the attack.

As per sources, the Kuki militants carried out their attack from Haraothel and Bethel areas in Kangpokpi district.

No casualties were reported till the filling of this report.

Shots fired at Thamnapokpi Bazar

Unknown armed miscreants fired several gunshots in the air around 9 am on Friday, in Thamnapokpi Bazar area along Tiddim Road NH-2 in Bishnupur district.

The alarming incident prompted a swift response from the police teams of Bishnupur District, Moirang Police teams, and CDO teams who rushed to the area to investigate. No casualties or damages were reported as a result of the gunfire.

The miscreants managed to flee the scene before the police arrived. Following the incident, a case has been registered under the Arms Act for further investigation
