Manipur Unrest: 24 MLAs hold closed-door meeting

Manipur Legislative Assembly members and ministers discussed bringing peace and harmony and restoring normalcy in the state.

Twenty-four MLAs, including seven council of ministers, on Friday conducted a closed-door meeting, and discussed the prevailing situation of the state. According to a reliable source, the meeting was chaired by Speaker Th Satyabrata.

The seven ministers are Th Biswajit Singh, K Govindas, Y Khemchand, Sapam Ranjan Singh, H Dingo Singh, L Susindro alias Yaima and Th Bashantakumar Singh.

Among the MLAs were L Rameshwor Singh of Keirao AC; K Robindro Singh of Mayang Imphal AC; T Robindro Singh of Thanga AC; S Nishikant Singh of Keishamthong AC; Th Arunkumar of Wangkhei AC; Kh Joykisan of Thangmeiband AC; S Rajen Singh of Lamshang AC; Y Radheshyam of Hiyanglam AC; S Kunjakeshwor Singh of Patsoi AC; P Brojen of Wangjing AC; Iboomcha Meitei of Lamlai AC; E Nalini Devi of Oinam AC; S Kebi Devi of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC; Shanti Singh of Moirang AC; M Rameshwor Singh of Kakching AC and K Shyam of Langthabal AC.

Sources said that during the meeting the members and ministers discussed bringing peace and harmony and restoring normalcy in the state.

The meeting began on Thursday and could be conducted on Saturday as well, as per sources.

Ten Naga MLAs of Manipur comprising five NPF, two BJP, two NPP and one independent MLA met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday and reportedly briefed the media in Dimapur, Nagaland on Friday.
