As gearing up for the forthcoming General Election to 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024, the District Election Officer, Senapati conducted Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign at Astro Turf Senapati on Saturday.
During the campaign, SDC Senapati Ngaonii Panii stated that the main objective of SVEEP campaign is to spread awareness on voter enrolment and seek maximum participation from the eligible voters to turn out on the polling day.
He mentioned that Senapati district has about 1.52 voters which turned out to be one of the largest among hill districts in the state. On bringing inclusiveness to this Lok Sabha election 2024, he said provision has been made possible for all the voters including differently abled persons and 80+ citizens so that no voters are left behind.
As part of the campaign, there was a football exhibition match between District 11 and SDOAM (Senapati district Olympic Association Manipur (SDOAM) 11 and later between SDBA (Senapati District Badminton Association) and SDOAM Veteran.
Penalty shootout were also made available for public spectators. Project director DRDA Nodal Officer for Complaints and Voter Helpline PP Ronald administered the pledge to the players and public gathering.
The DEO, Senapati also distributed T- shirts and caps to the players. An audio recorded voice on English and respective dialects of the district were also played to the gathering on voting.
Earlier, the second randomisation of polling personnel in respect of three assembly segments of Senapati district was held on Saturday at Conference Hall, DEO/DC Office, Senapati for the ensuing 18th General Election to Lok Sabha- 2024.
The randomisation process was conducted in the presence of general observer 2- Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Ujjwal Kumar via video conference, district election officer/ DC, Senapati Mamoni Doley, ARO 48- Mao (ST) AC/ SDO Songsong Ningreingam Leisan, nodal officer for Human Resource Management/ CEO/ADC Senapati A Adahrii Maheo and his team.
