Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) and NSCN (I-M) and other Naga Political Groups operating in the region are still trying to take advantage from each other despite repeated appeals to shun violence and maintain peaceful co-existence within the Naga families, AZSU-AMN alleged in a release.

It lamented the arrest of one Lungningdai, alias Wilson Kamei, son of Khundailung Kamei of Tupul, reportedly an NSCN (I-M) cadre ASO by rank by ZUF cadres in Tupul area on Monday around 10 am.

The circle of conflict allegedly occurring time and again between NSCN (I-M) and ZUF is a grave concern for Zeliangrong community which really disturbs the peaceful environment in the region and creates fear psychosis among the people, it asserted. It also appealed to ZUF to kindly release the captured NSCN (IM) cadre without any harm on humanitarian ground.

It noted that both NSCN (I-M) and ZUF are entering into official political negotiation with the Centre for fulfilling the protracted issue, adding that attacking each other will bear no fruits in the struggle. It reiterated its appeal to all the Naga Political Groups and right- thinking citizens operating in the Zeliangrong areas to shun all forms of violence.
