Unknown miscreants looted the Kangpokpi Branch of the Manipur State Cooperative Bank Ltd situated at IT Road, Ward No 17, Kangpokpi, causing loss to the branch, six computer sets, one canon printer, one CCTV Camera Hard drive.
The cash vault was broken but no cash was looted as all the cash from the Cash Vault as well as from the ATM had been already taken out in the middle week of May 2023, Bidyarani Ayekpam, MD of the bank said in a note provided to the media on Wednesday.
The matter of theft/loot was brought to the notice of the management of the bank by the officials of Kangpokpi Branch on Tuesday (July 11) immediately after they came to know of the same when they opened the Branch at around 11.30 am for providing services to the customers of the Kangpokpi Branch, the MD continued.
In this regard, the MSCB Ltd, Kangpokpi Branch lodged a complaint at the Kangpokpi Police Station vide letter of even No. dated 12/07/2023 requesting the police to take up necessary action for causing damage and looting the Bank’s property and also book the culprit(s) under law.
Coincidently, the report comes just after it was reported that the Churachandpur Branch of Axis Bank located at Tiddim Road and Thangzam Road junction was found looted by unknown miscreants who walked away with Rs 1 crore and gold.
