Manipur social welfare department to conduct survey of transgenders

A notification issued by Director, Social Welfare, Manipur, Ngangom Uttam on July 18 stated that the activity will be conducted for collection and compilation of data for Transgender persons through submission of self-declaration forms.

The Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur, informed that it will conduct a survey of transgenders in the state through Anganwadi centres.

A notification issued by Director, Social Welfare, Manipur, Ngangom Uttam on July 18 stated that the activity will be conducted for collection and compilation of data for Transgender persons through submission of self-declaration forms.

It notified those concerned to collect the prescribed form from the nearest Anganwadi centres and submit the duly filled in the self-declaration form through the Drop-Box placed in every Anganwadi centres on or before August 20.

Every declaration form submitted will be secured with Full Confidentiality, it maintained. Transgender persons may download the Self-Declaration form from the website ‘social welfare.mn.gov.in’, it added.
