Manipur: Senapati traditional food fest concludes

The festival celebrated the rich culinary heritage and aimed to promote the local entrepreneurs of Naamai Zho.

The 4th Cosmos Flower Traditional Food Fest, 2024 concluded at Naamai Zho in Senapati district on Monday.

The festival celebrated the rich culinary heritage and aimed to promote the local entrepreneurs of Naamai Zho.

Speaking on the occasion, sub-divisional officer Phaibung and Lairouching James Pani emphasised the importance of preserving and promoting rural heritage through initiatives such as traditional food festivals.

“This festival serves not only as a celebration of our culinary traditions but as a platform for rural communities to showcase their talents and foster connections,” he said.

Pani highlighted the potential impact of rural heritage in boosting local economies and enhancing cultural pride.

Meanwhile chairman of Maram Bazaar RK Daniel stressed the need for ideals of unity and cooperation among the people.

“The spirit of brotherhood is the foundation of our community; through events like these, we strengthen our development ties and promote a sense of oneness,” he said.

During the festival, local businesses showcased their unique products. The sellers’ and buyers’ meet facilitated direct interactions, allowing entrepreneurs to discuss their offerings with potential buyers, thereby fostering a vibrant marketplace environment.

Purul Union president PM Hiinii Batao and other village leaders attended the event. The main closing ceremony for the festival will be held on October 26.
