Pointing out the different versions of the statements of Manipur security advisor Kuldiep Singh and DGP Manipur Rajeev Singh in light of the recent report regarding infiltration of over 900 trained militants from Myanmar into Manipur, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Thursday expressed shock, calling the security advisor and DGP Manipur irresponsible officers.
COCOMI coordinator Somorendro Thokchom said that the security advisor himself confirmed the infiltration of 900 trained arm militants into Manipur and even informed of taking up steps. However, the security advisor and DGP Rajeev Singh later stated that the report was fake, Somorendro added.
In a situation where the public is in a panicky condition, such different versions from officers who are sent to protect the people have shocked and surprised COCOMI, Somorendro stated.

“What is the role of Security Advisor and Rajeev Singh in Manipur?”, he questioned, adding that they are very irresponsible.
Expressing concerns over the protection of the people, he further questioned if the handling of unified command by such irresponsible officers is correct or if they can be trusted. He said COCOMI suspects that the security advisor and DGP are involved in the Indian government’s conspiracy.
Highlighting attacks at Koutruk via missile and drone bombing, Somorendro said that the security advisor failed to initiate necessary actions. He should not be a unified command leader, rather remove him from the unified command and the state government should look into it, he added.
He also mentioned that the report of reviewing AFSPA in Manipur is true then the state will face more violence and deads. The state will become a violent state, he said.
