Manipur: Protests held against election

, women vendors of Kakching carried out a protest against the 18th Lok Sabha Election urging not to carry out dirty politics while the state is suffering from the ongoing violence.

Three Meira Paibi lups of Lamdeng Apunba Meira Paibi Lup have condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah for not giving any assurance to conclude the ongoing violence nor include the Meitei/Meetei in the ST list during his recent visit to Manipur.

Taking part in a protest carried out by Meira Paibi at Lamdeng Makha Leikai Women Development Association office, Lamdeng Makha Leikei Meira Paibi member Thangjam Jamuna demanded the inclusion of Meiteis in ST list, to implement NRC in the state and to conclude the ongoing violence which has been going on in the state for the last 11 months. The protesters also chanted various slogans.

Meanwhile, women vendors of Kakching carried out a protest against the 18th Lok Sabha Election urging not to carry out dirty politics while the state is suffering from the ongoing violence.

Protestors took a firm stand not to take part in any election by the Indian government. Tying black cloth on their wrists, the protesters displayed various placards which say “Stop state terrorism, Manipur is suffering, Manipur wants peace and prosperity”.
