Kakching Khunou Keithel Vendors Association staged a sit-in protest on Monday at Kakching Khunou Market against the individuals who opposed the installation of SBI branch at the said market in Kakching district.

According to the protesters, Sugnu MLA K Ranjit sent a recommendation letter in 2021 to the regional manager of SBI and chief secretary of state government, proposing the installation of an SBI Kakching Khunou Branch at Kakching Khunou market, following appeals from the people of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council and local MLA.

However, some individuals reportedly opposed these efforts and allegedly attempted to install the SBI branch elsewhere, away from Kakching Khunou market. The protestors also chanted slogans during the demonstration.
