Thanga MLA Th Robindro who received the BJP ticket expressed his confidence of reclaiming the Thanga MLA seat with the support of all the BJP ticket aspirants, who did not make it to the candidates list of Thanga assembly constituency.
Robindro was speaking to the media after filing his nomination at the office of returning officer, Thanga assembly constituency in Bishnupur district on Saturday.
BJP ticket aspirant of Thanga assembly constituency, M Asnikumar, in presence of Chief Minister N Biren at the CM’s secretariat, had announced that he will not be contesting the election as he could not make it to the BJP list.
However, Asnikumar had given his commitment to continue serving the people as a loyal BJP worker.
Continuing his speech, Robindro reaffirmed his commitment to serve the people of his constituency with full dedication and to make a progressive Thanga.
Robindro was the lone MLA of Trinamool Congress after winning the 2017 election and he recently joined the BJP. In the 2017 election, he was denied the BJP ticket and it was given to Asnikumar.
According to Robindro, he chose BJP over Trinamool Congress, claiming that the party has no hope in Manipur. “I will be able to serve my people better by being an MLA of the ruling party,” he added.
