Manipur Police felicitate Paris Olympians

2024 Paris Olympians, namely Mirabai Chanu and Shanglakpam Nilakanta Sharma were felicitated by DGP Manipur along with other senior police officials at the Police Headquarters, Imphal on Wednesday.

2024 Paris Olympians, namely Mirabai Chanu and Shanglakpam Nilakanta Sharma were felicitated by DGP Manipur along with other senior police officials at the Police Headquarters, Imphal on Wednesday.

Manipur Police is proud of their achievements and contributions to the Nation and assured of all encouragement and support in their future endeavours, stated a release issued by Police Control Room, Manipur Police.

During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was under control, it stated.

Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts, it stated.

During the search operations, one 51mm mortar, four HE-36 Hand Grenades, one Baofeng walkie talkie set with charger, two Single barrel local made guns, one Carbine gun (local made), one Revolver (local made), 124 live ammunition rounds, two lathode bombs, seven Tear smoke shells, two Wood piercing shells and one Rubber bullet were seized from Ching Lukok, Kakching district.

On Tuesday, Security Forces rescued one abducted person and arrested two persons
(who are members of KCP) involved in the abduction case from the Joint Sawombung Naka Post under Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East, it mentioned.

The arrested persons have been identified as Konjengbam Narendra alias Naoton Singh, 31, Maibam Priya Devi, 31, it stated.

From them, one four-wheeler vehicle involved in the abduction was seized, it mentioned.

It further stated that the movement of 133 and 69 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-2 with respectively essential items has been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, it added.

A total of 104 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different Districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 163 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the State, it mentioned.

It appealed to the general public not to believe in rumours and be aware of false videos. Any circulation of unfounded videos etc. may be confirmed from the rumour free number- 9233522822 of the Central Control room, it said. It further appealed to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
