Manipur: Miscreants plant grenade at former MIS & AUDIT Director’s house

Unknown miscreants allegedly planted a hand grenade at the residence of a former MIS & AUDIT Director at Top Khongnang Makhong under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district.

Incidents of bomb threats and attacks continue unabated in Manipur. On Thursday, unknown miscreants allegedly planted a hand grenade at the residence of a former MIS & AUDIT Director at Top Khongnang Makhong under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district.

According to sources, miscreants planted the grenade at the house of former director, Laishram Badal Kumar, 59 years, son of late, L Nodikumar from Top Khongnang Makhong.

Family members came across the same around 9.5 am on Thursday. It is suspected that the threat might have been triggered by monetary demands. However, the motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.

Upon hearing the information, a team of Porompat Police Station along with a Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the area and removed the bomb around 10.33 am. It was later safely disposed of at Awa Ching in Imphal East around 11.21 am. Police have also registered a case against the incident.

Meanwhile, no individual or outfits have claimed responsibility for the threat till the time of filing this report.
