Miscreants reportedly attempted to destroy the Silchar to Imphal 400 KV power grid line at Kotlen under Keithelmanbi police station in Kangpokpi district by setting off explosives around 3.30 pm on Thursday.
Officials of the Power department said that the power grid line of Power Grid Corporation of India is connected with Yurembam power sub-station, and the power is distributed to the Imphal valley.
Although the said power grid was damaged by the blast, the power in Imphal valley will not be affected.
The electric poles were seen partially damaged by the blast.
The officials further said a complaint has been registered at Keithelmanbi police station, adding, the emergency restoration team of Power Grid Corporation of India will fix the issue at the earliest.
