Armed miscreants attacked Tiddim Motors showroom with gunshots in the wee hours of Wednesday evening, causing damage to two cars and a portion of the showroom at the airport road under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West.
As per eyewitness, two persons wearing masks and riding a motorcycle arrived towards the showroom and fired three rounds of gunshots.
The bullets damaged the glasses at the main entrance of the showroom, a car (white colored Altroz racer i-turbo plus) displayed at the showroom and the glass of a virtual sunrise coloured Curvy EV empower plus (top model).
The staff of Tiddim Motors staged a protest in front of the showroom, condemning the attack. Sales manager, Erengbam Chiitaranjan told the media that the incident happened when the state had been going through a critical juncture, and it was unfortunate.
“Those who have any grievances against Tiddim motors are welcomed for a talk; however, we denounce such kinds of attacks on the showroom,” he said.
More than 200 employees are working at Tiddim motors and they are the sole breadwinners of their families, he added. The attack causing damages to the showroom is considered as an act of inflicting hardships upon the staff, he said. He further appealed not to repeat such acts again in the future, he added.
