Miscreants fired gunshots at the Meira paibis who were holding vigil at the Meira paibi sheds along Moidangpok Khumbong road under Patsoi Police station in Imphal West on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

As per sources, unknown miscreants who came in three cars fired the gunshots towards the Meira Paibi sheds and drove off through Moidangpok Inter village road. 

A combined team of Patsoi police and central forces conducted search operations at the said routes following the incident but the miscreants could not be apprehended. Meira Paibis of the area strongly condemned the incident.
