The Special Judge (POCSO), Imphal West on Friday remanded a father in 15-day judicial custody for sexually assaulting his own daughter.
The allegation leveled against the accused is that he sexually assaulted his minor daughter. In course of investigation, the accused was thoroughly interrogated and on his interrogation he reportedly disclosed that he had committed sexual assault on his own daughter.
A complaint was lodged at Nungba police station by the victim’s mother on October 2 that her husband, 33, sexually assaulted her daughter.
During the summer vacation in June of this current year, her daughter was sexually assaulted/tortured by her own biological father at their home located at Noney, Manipur, as per the complaint.
The court after hearing submissions stated that the accusations leveled against the accused are well founded and therefore, he is remanded into judicial custody.
