Manipur | Makhuam Landslide: One body of woman found on Day-18

The total number of bodies recovered so far rose to 56 and five more victims remained missing as of Sunday.

The search and rescue operation team on Sunday recovered one more body from the debris of the recent landslide at Makhuam village in Noney district, Manipur, official sources said.

The body of a woman, identified as one of the missing villagers, Thuisinliu Gondaimei, wife of Lungpuilan was recovered around 10.30 am, the sources said. 

As per directions of state administration, the Search and Rescue work continued on the 18th Day on Sunday (July 17).

So far, 56 total bodies have been recovered and 18 others have been rescued alive. Following it, five others remained missing.

As many as 79 people were affected by the landslide that hit the camp site of the Northern Frontier Railway and the 107 Territorial Army at Makhuam on the intervening night of June 29-30.
