Makhan (Makhen) Village Authority on Friday stated that one social media page (Instagram) named ‘Farewell Manipur’, allegedly a twin to one X (formerly Twitter) handle named ‘Separation Only Solution’, has tendered an apology for the posts and statements carrying unfounded allegations against Makhan village regarding the recent disappearance and whereabouts of the two young boys.

The apology was issued within a matter of a few hours after the release of the ‘Rebuttal to Propaganda Media Narrative on Makhan village’, stated a release. It said that the village has the sole discretion and reservation as to whether to give in to the acceptance of the apology or further its standardised veto or delay.

It pointed out that the allegation has garnered a well-discussed conference of deliberations among the village chief and the village chairman and worried the young and the old.

The psychological, mental and reputational damage and harm brought upon by such unfounded allegations carrying the weight of some elements of mockery is undeniably sour in taste, it lamented.

It warned every concerned not to repeat any or such acts of baseless allegations having the potential to spark off cascading consequences. The village extends a room bigger than ignorance, falsity, manipulation, forgery or mischief for all kinds of healthy talks, discussions and deliberations, it said.

It should be of no surprise if the village launches stricter democratic ways to defend and save the village, if any man-made or natural elements try to bring any harm or defamation in the past, the present or the future, the release maintained. Being a peacekeeping Liangmai Naga village settlement, the village will not tolerate any form or kind of false allegations or propagandist activity having the linings of shallow rhetoric devoid of substance, it added.
