Manipur logs 18 new COVID-19 positive cases, zero death

Manipur has 276 COVID-19 active cases as of Friday. The state also recorded 35 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,34,483.

Manipur on Friday recorded 18 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,36,872 while the death toll remained at 2,113 with zero fatality recorded, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.5 per cent.

According to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room, six new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West, another five cases from Imphal East, two each from Bishnupur and Kakching and one each from Senapati, Thoubal and Ukhrul.

The state also recorded 35 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,34,483. The recovery rate is 98.25 per cent. Manipur now has 276 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 273 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 155 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 27,20,879 (first dose: 15,14,939 second dose: 11,45,401 precautionary dose: 60,539).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.11 per cent and for the second dose is 48.93 per cent, it mentioned.
