JNIMS director professor Deben Singh Laishram on Tuesday announced that Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) will provide any necessary assistance under government schemes for any needy people in connection with the prevailing crisis.

He was speaking at the Gynaecology ward, JNIMS on Tuesday while seeing a woman patient who delivered her first son at JNIMS free of cost under various government schemes.

Deben said the family members of the woman requested the authorities of the primary health centre, Wangoo for help on Friday after she suffered from complications during her labour.
