Rahul Laishram, first position holder of Manipur HSLC Examination 2022, of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai in Imphal said that he wants to become a professor and accomplish remarkable research in the field of science that will help mankind.
In an interaction with reporters at his residence after declaration of the exam results, Rahul Laishram said he had been anxious and excited since Thursday after learning that the exam results will be declared.
Rahul, son of Laishram Premkumar and Laishram ongbi Sanahanbi, secured a total of 586 marks and exceeded the second position holders by just one mark.
He expressed immense joy over bagging the top position and credited his success to the support of his parents, teachers and friends.
When asked about the challenges he faced in preparation for the exams, he said that online classes are less effective in the teaching learning process compared to physical classes.
“I didn’t face any challenges other than attending classes online. Yet, I did get enough time for self-study,” he said.
He further said that he went for private coaching but devoted to self-study when the exams were approaching.
Saying that studying should be a fun process, he said that he didn’t follow specific routine for reading books. “Sometimes, I study for hours and some days, I skip studying completely,” he added.
Apart from reading, he said that he also enjoys reading newspapers, watching television, listening to music and playing football.
Meanwhile, Rahul’s father, Laishram Premkumar said that Rahul grew up being serious in his studies and was not challenging to raise him.
He also asserted that they, as parents, understand what their child wants to become and will support in every possible way in realizing his dream.
