A team comprising the Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, Justice Sanjay Kumar and other officials from the court and Noney District Administration visited Rangkhung Part-I village, Noney district on Monday, and inspected the proposed site for the construction of District Court Building Complex, Noney.

Speaking to the media during the visit, Sanjay Kumar stated that the area which was donated by the villagers is ideal for the construction of new buildings while also praising the beauty and size of the area.

Expressing satisfaction on the feasibility of construction at the site, he said, “It totally served the purpose,” while also pointing out certain issues that needed to get looked into such as the requirement for expansion and development of the existing approach road.

The chief justice further said that he had directed the DC of Noney to look into the matter and make necessary arrangements adding that steps have been initiated for construction and now it is only a matter of time.

“Once the construction of the District Court building is completed and starts functioning, then the grievances of people will be redressed, and justice brought to the doorsteps,” he asserted.

It is generally said that the work agency will be PDA while the sanctioned amount is Rs 10 crore, and there will be a composite of three buildings in the same complex, one for district and session judge, one for chief judicial magistrate and the other for judicial magistrate (first class).

During his short visit, the chief justice was accompanied by registrar general, A Guneshwor; OSD to chief justice, Golmei Gaiphulshilu; joint registrar (Judicial), Alek Muivah; deputy registrar (Protocol), S. Joychand Singh; court manager, High Court of Manipur, Thouman Luckyson Maring; secretary, Law, Nongleitombi Athokpam; DC of Noney, Robert Singh Kshetrimayum; SDO/ BDO, Haochong Namlalung Gangmei;  ADC member, Awangkhul segment, R  Kaniangmei; and  ADC member, Chiuluan segment along with officials of PDA, government of Manipur.

The inspection team also interacted with the village authority leaders of Rangkhung Part-I, and before they left for Kakching, the visiting officials had lunch at Noney Forest’s IB.
