In a recent development, a Head Constable of the Manipur Police Department has been suspended following his alleged involvement in an attack on Additional SP, Imphal West, and others.
The constable, who is suspected to be an active member of an unspecified group (suspected to be working as an active member of AT), was named in the FIR related to the assault.
Sources revealed that the suspended officer had a prior run-in with the law, having been arrested by Amit Singh in 2020 for his alleged involvement in an arms smuggling case. At the time, Amit was serving as Additional SP in Moreh.
The attack on Amit Singh and his family is now under investigation, with authorities looking into potential connections between the recent incident and the past arrest of the suspended constable.
The unfolding details suggest a complex web of events that law enforcement is diligently working to unravel.
