The ‘Green Model Polling Station’ introduced at some polling stations in every constituency of Inner Parliamentary election of Lok Sabha, has become an attraction for voters.

These eco-friendly ideal polling stations have been established in every district for the Inner Parliamentary election of Lok Sabha that went to polls on Friday. These polling booths are decorated with bamboo, twigs and leaves, and there was no usage of plastic at all in their construction.

District electoral officer of Imphal East Khumanthem Diana said that the green model polling stations aim to attract not only 100 per cent voting at some polling stations, but they can also provide due sensitisation of electors towards a clean and green environment and climate sensitive ecologically sustainable practices.
