Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visits IWT Complex, INA War Museum

The Governor paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and also took a tour of the museum which houses an array of relics and memorabilia, the Raj Bhavan stated.

Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited IWT Complex at Sendra, Loktak Lake and INA War Museum in Moirang on Thursday.

The Governor was warmly received by Minister for Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Consumer Affairs Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Leishangthem Susindro Meitei and Moirangthem Asnikumar, Chairman, Loktak Development Authority (LDA), stated a release from the Raj Bhavan.

During his visit, the Governor expressed his admiration for the stunning beauty of Loktak Lake, it said. He also commended the efforts of the LDA for their dedicated work in preserving and enhancing this unique ecological treasure, it mentioned.

Lakshman Prasad Acharya later visited the Indian National Army (INA) War Museum in Moirang where he was greeted by Moirang AC MLA and other officials, it stated.

There, the Governor paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and also took a tour of the museum which houses an array of relics and memorabilia, it stated. His visit continued with a stop at the historic INA Headquarters in Moirang, it added.

Speaking on the sidelines, the Governor emphasised the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and also encouraged the citizens to draw inspiration from the legacy of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and build a better future for India, the release noted.
