Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Ministers Nemcha Kipgen and Awangbow Newmai on Thursday extended greetings to the people of the state especially the Christian community on the sacred and auspicious occasion of Good Friday, 2023.
In her message, Governor Anusuiya Uikey stated that Lord Jesus was a giant among humans and was sent to bring a new world order based on truth, humility, sacrifice, equality, compassion and peace. Good Friday exemplifies Jesus’ supreme sacrifice for all the sins of mankind and his resurrection represents the victory of good over evil, she mentioned.
“On his holy and pious occasion, let us all rededicate to the noble ideals of peace, harmony and brotherhood espoused by him for a better world devoid of all evils,” she added.
CM N Biren also conveyed his greetings to the people of the state especially the Christian communities on the occasion of Good Friday which is the day that marks the supreme sacrifice made by lord Jesus Christ for mankind.
In his message, CM N Biren Singh stated that the crucifixion of the lord on Good Friday and his resurrection on Easter Sunday are manifestations of the triumph of good over evil. “Let his ideals of sacrifice, compassion and forgiveness be the guiding light in our pursuit of unity and brotherhood,” he added.
Textile Minister Nemcha Kipgen in her message extended well wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Good Friday and stated that the day exemplifies the supreme and selfless sacrifice made by lord Jesus for strengthening the bond of friendship, brotherhood and universal love amongst mankind. “On the occasion, let us all rededicate ourselves to the noble ideas of love, peace and forgiveness and strengthen the bonds of oneness among all the people,” she added.
Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai also conveyed well wishes on the occasion of Good Friday in his message and stated that the day is observed to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and his sacrifices for the sins of mankind. “On this holy occasion, let us all come together to uphold the noble ideas of peace, harmony and brotherhood espoused by him for a better world,” he added.
