Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Monday, visited an Old Age Home at Mongshangei in Imphal West district on her 66th birthday.
Governor interacted with aged people who are sheltering in the home and enquired about their grievances.
She thanked the All Manipur Senior Citizens Welfare Association for their yeoman’s service towards the destitute, separated and aged people in the society and wished the old aged people for a happy and healthy life.
The governor donated a cash of Rs 1 lakh, rice, dal, fruits and eatables to the home. She also inspected the existing infrastructure of the home. Earlier, a representative of the association highlighted the grievances faced by the people in the home.
They also urged the governor for giving necessary instruction to the concerned department for mending the approach road leading to the home from the main road.
They also thanked the governor for being the first ever governor who visited the home and wished her a happy, healthy and prosperous life ahead.
