In a gesture of gratefulness to Governor Anusuiya Uikey for her indomitable and selfless services at this time for the people of Manipur, a team of painters from Kakching led by Thoithoiba Mayanglambam along with Sagolsem Ronel, Khumukcham Ratan and Tekcham Nando presented a hand painted portrait on handicraft item (Yangkok) of the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Friday.
The team also apprised the difficulties faced by the artist due to the prevailing law and order situations of the state following which the Governor assured the artist team to extend necessary assistance from her office, the Raj Bhavan said.
Lt Gen Pradeep Chandran Nair, AVSM, YSM, Director General, Assam Rifles along with Brig Sushim Biswas, Deputy, IGAR (South) also called on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan today and apprised about present security situation of Manipur and the efforts put by Assam Rifles to bring peace and normalcy in Manipur.
Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, Central Agriculture University, Imphal along with Pujya Kadsiddheshwar Swami, Kanerimath Kolhapur (MS) called on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan on Friday and briefed on the continuous relief activities extended by CAU for the internally displaced people in Manipur, the Raj Bhavan said.
The governor appreciated their noble tasks and encouraged them to continue their humanitarian services, it added.
