Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Tuesday directed chief secretary Vineet Joshi to inform the internally displaced persons about the new guidelines issued by the state government and instructed him to send government officials regularly to the relief camps to keep abreast of the problems faced by the inmates.
According to a release, the governor convened a meeting with the chief secretary and director justice, Chandra Mohiyar at Raj Bhavan. During the meeting, the governor discussed in detail her visit to relief camps in Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts and problems the inmates faced at the relief camps, it said.
Meanwhile, CLP leader Okram Ibobi Singh, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president K Meghachandra Singh, Janata Dal (United) president K Biren Singh along with representatives of eight political parties called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan.
The team submitted a memorandum to the governor urging to expedite the process of restoring peace and normalcy in the state, said a release.
Detailed discussions on the state's prevailing law and order situation and measures to bring back peace at the earliest were held during the meet, it mentioned.
