The Manipur government is planning to develop “Imphal Street of People” along the Governor Road, which will have a cycle track, open museum and an emergency lane.
The Imphal Street of People development plan aims to make the capital city, Imphal "more lively and vibrant", Chief Minister N Biren Singh said.
In connection with it, the chief minister chaired a meeting on Monday and said the development of a cycle track, open museum and an emergency lane along the Governor Road is being proposed.
"Chaired a meeting regarding the development of “Imphal Street of People” along the Governor Road. With a vision to make the city more lively and vibrant, it is being proposed that a cycle track, open museum and an emergency lane be developed on this stretch," Biren said.
The chief minister said that opening up of a section of BT Park was also discussed to make it more accessible to the people.
The meeting was attended by Minister Y Khemchand, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, MLAs S Rajen and Th Shanti, and state officials.
