A team of Patsoi Police station, led by Inspector Sunil, OC Patsoi PS under the supervision of Ksh Shivakanta Singh, SP Imphal West, seized 15 gold biscuits from a Maruti van coming from Imphal side towards Patsoi on Thursday at around 5 pm.
Based on a reliable source, the team intercepted one white Maruti Van bearing registration number MN01G-8270 which was driven by one person namely B Balasuparmani, 33 yrs, S/o M Baskar of No. 523, 9th Street, Sastri Nagar, Vyasarpadi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
On checking the vehicle, the gold biscuits, which were kept concealed inside the Maruti Van, were seized.
The person was arrested along with 15 numbers of gold biscuits weighing 2.278 kg in total, one Maruti Van, one mobile phone, one aadhaar card and one driving licence.
The arrested person and recovered items were further handed over to DC Customs, Imphal for further formalities.
