Manipur: Flag march conducted in Moreh

A joint team of district police, Tengnoupal and Rapid Action Force on Monday conducted a flag march in the border town, Moreh.

After one MPS officer was shot dead by a sniper, security measures in the border town Moreh have been intensifying. A joint team of district police, Tengnoupal and Rapid Action Force on Monday conducted a flag march in the border town, Moreh.

The district police was commanded by additional superintendent of police (Ops), TS Chamna Anal and the RAF was led by Dy CO RAF Srikant and AC RAF Vinayak.

The flag march started from 3 pm from command post Moreh town towards Gate number 1 crossing Mission Veng, Tamil Mandir, gate number 2, Nepali and Muslim Basti, Canan Veng and ended at Forest Gate at around 4.30 pm.

The MPS officer Ch Anand was shot dead by a sniper on October 31 while inspecting the new helipad constructed at Eastern Shine School, Moreh. The bullet hit the back of Anand and exited from his abdomen.

The MPS officer succumbed to his bullet injury while trying to air-lift to Imphal for treatment.

It may be recalled that earlier on Saturday, a combined team of state and central forces had carried out a flag march as well as area domination patrolling at Moreh town.
