The Manipur Fire Service Department on Monday inaugurated a five-day Basic Fire and Life Safety Training Programme, with Joint Secretary (Home) Mayengbam Veto serving as the chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony took place at the Manipur Fire Service headquarters in Imphal and was attended by Fire Service Director L Nabachandra, who served as the functional president, and Senior Finance Officer Th Samson, the guest of honour.
The first day of the training programme saw participation from staff and students of various hospitals, schools, and colleges, highlighting the community’s commitment to enhancing fire safety awareness.
The training aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills related to fire prevention, safety protocols, and emergency response.
During the event, members of the Fire Prevention Wing and firefighters demonstrated various rescue equipment, showcasing practical techniques for handling emergency situations. This hands-on approach is designed to prepare participants for real-life scenarios, ensuring they are well-versed in fire safety measures.
Speaking on the occasion, Veto emphasized the importance of such training initiatives in fostering a culture of safety and preparedness within the community. The programme aims not only to educate participants but also to encourage confidence in their ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
The five-day training is expected to provide valuable insights and practical skills that will benefit participants and enhance overall public safety in Manipur.
