In continuation of the ‘Grow More Food’ campaign initiated by Irabot Foundation Manipur (IFM) to assist and support the farmers, the foundation on Friday distributed winter vegetable crop seeds to the farmers of Konthoujam Constituency in Imphal West district.
Leading the distribution of seeds held at Konthoujam mamang leikai kabui village, IFM president, Kh Gopen Luwang and vice president Okram Dilip emphasized the significance of living together, giving and sharing with whatever little one has with those in need and said that unity is needed now more than ever, stated a release.
The activity was carried out in support to those in need and to strengthen unity among the people, it stated. Winter vegetable seeds were also distributed to farmers of Thiyam Konjil in Imphal East, it mentioned. A farmer of the area named Bijen also thanked IFM for distributing rabi crop seeds, it said.
IFM president further said that most of the essential items are imported from other states and asserted that the same is one of the main impacts on the economic growth of the state, it mentioned. He urged the people to join efforts and take steps to boost the economy, it added.
