Kuki militants torched a farmhouse at Kamong Maisnam Maning Leikai Mayangbung Loukon situated 8 Km west of Nambol Police Station on the intervening night of Wednesday.
As per sources, the farm house belonged to Samom Shyamsunder, 59, son of (L) S Shamungou of Kamong Maisnam Maning Leikai.
It is reported that S Shyamsunder visited his farm house daily, and he went there to work on Wednesday and returned home in the evening as usual.
The fire gutted water pump set, fertilizer bags, bed, utensils item etc which cost around Rs 61,000.
A case has been registered at Nambol Police Station for further investigation.
Meanwhile Manipur IPR Minister Sapam Ranjan paid a visit to the spot on Thursday.
"Visited at the spot at Kangmong under Konthoujam A/C where a farmhouse was burned down," the minister posted on X.
