The restriction of movement of the general public outside their residences is lifted for Sunday from 5 am to 12 noon for all areas of Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching and Bishnupur districts in Manipur.
Orders issued by the respective district magistrates on Saturday stated that this relaxation shall not include any gatherings, sit-in-protest, rally etc. without obtaining approval through competent authority.
Due to the development of law and order situation, there is a need to relax the restriction of movement to facilitate the general public to purchase the essential items including medicines and food items, they said.
However, movement of persons coming for recruitment rally of Territorial Army to be conducted at Tulihal, Imphal, Battalion Headquarter of the unit of 165 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home and Health) ASSAM, shall be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of the relaxation, stated the order issued by additional district magistrate, Imphal West K Jadumani Singh.
Persons belonging to essential services such as Health, Electricity, CAF & PD, PHED, Telecom, Communication providers, banking, financial Institution including ATM cash filling, Petrol Pumps, Schools, colleges, Municipality, Press and Electronic media, functioning of Courts Child Helplines, Women Helpline, Elder-line and to and fro movement of flight passengers to Airport and Contractor, Worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) Cards are also exempted, it added.
Remaining orders also noted that there is a necessity to relax the restriction of movement to facilitate the general public to purchase essential items including medicines and food Items, etc.
The order issued by district magistrate Bishnupur district Lourembam Bikram mentioned that no person shall carry any arms of any kind during the period of relaxation for inciting violence such as sticks, stones, and firearms without a valid License, weapons, or objects of any description, which can be used as offensive weapons.
Shops and other retail outlets are allowed to open during the period of relaxation, it said. All persons shall effectively abide by the relaxation schedule, it stated. No extension is given and valid for any person and all attempts to delay shall be treated as violative of the curfew, it mentioned.
It further stated that violation or attempt of violation of any kind shall be treated as per standing government instructions and as applicable per law.
All persons belonging to essential services such as the Health, PHED, MSPDCL, Official, Staff of Education Department, Officials, Staffs Municipal Councils, Media persons, ATM cash filling team, Child Helpline, Women Helpline, Elderline, Telecom Service Providers and the candidates in the army recruitment shall be exempted from further imposition of curfew after the expiry of said period of relaxation, it added.
