The restriction of movement of the general public outside their residences has been lifted for Wednesday from 5 am to 10 am for all areas of Kakching and Imphal East, and Imphal West districts of Manipur.
An order issued by the district magistrate, Kakching district Rohit Anand on Tuesday stated that the relaxation shall not include any gathering, sit-in-protests, rally etc. without obtaining approval through competent authority.
However, the movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health, Electricity, CAF and PD, PHED, Telecom, Banking, Financial Institutions including ATM Cash filling, Petrol Pumps, Schools/Colleges, Municipality, Press and Electronic Media, functioning of Courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to Airport and Contractor/Worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) Card shall be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of the relaxation, it said.
Due to the easing of the law and order situation in the district, there is a need felt to relax the restriction of movement to facilitate the general public to purchase the essential items including medicines and food items, it added.
An order issued by district magistrate, Imphal East Khumanthem Diana Devi also noted that there is a necessity to relax the restriction of movement to facilitate the public to purchase essential items including medicines and food items, etc.
This relaxation shall, however, not apply to any gathering, large scale movement of persons, sit- in- protests, rally, etc. which is unlawful in nature, it mentioned.
Further, all persons belonging to essential services such as Health, PHED, CAF&PD, Municipal Officials, Staff, Power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), petrol pumps, Media, functioning of Courts, banks, ATM cash filling officials/staff, telecom service providers and to and fro movement of flight passengers to airport shall be exempted from further imposition of curfew, it added.
The order issued by additional district magsitrate, Imphal West K Jadumani Singh stated that the relaxation shall not include any gathering, sit-in protest, rally etc. without obtaining approval through competent authority.
