A delegation of the National People’s Party (NPP) led by party vice president and former Manipur deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh along with former minister L Jayantakumar Singh, and four others called on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan in Imphal Sunday.
The team apprised the governor about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and urged to take appropriate steps to contain the violence and ensure restoration of normalcy and peace, stated a release.
The political delegation expressed their anguish over the repeated incidents of violence and arson in many parts of the state and requested the governor for taking up necessary security measures to save lives and properties, it stated. The team also submitted a memorandum to the governor, it added.
The governor assured the delegation that with the help of the steps that are being taken up to prevent violence and security measures which are put in place will definitely help to restore/establish peace and normalcy in the state, it mentioned. She appealed to contribute in restoring normalcy and peace in the state, it added.
