The All Manipur Muslim Organisations Coordination Committee (AMMOCOC) on Monday asserted that a collective protest of Meitei-Pangals will be staged on June 21 to voice concerns on the ensuing crisis.

The committee also added that no festivities will be conducted on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and stated that only religious rituals would be allowed.

Speaking to the media at AMMOCOC office, Imphal, AMMOCOC president SM Jalal mentioned that the present crisis has been "carefully orchestrated by outsiders and a few insiders working to break the integrity of Manipur".

He also stated that AMMOCOC would fight against any elements striving to disintegrate the territorial space of Manipur.

“If the need arises, AMMOCOC will coordinate with other CSOs and join the fight for the state’s territorial integrity and unity,” he said.

He lambasted the Central government for failing to restore peace and normalcy in the state swiftly and stated that even when the crisis is nearing two months, the government is still struggling to mete out any proper measures.

He further cautioned that Meitei Pangals would inevitably join force to safeguard the state if the central government failed to dispense appropriate measures swiftly.
