The CO I/c of the 8th IR (CDO) Battalion, Khabesoi MPS N Madhunimai Singh has been suspended as per an order issued by deputy secretary (DP) Zorisang Thiek Pongate on Monday while disciplinary proceedings are being contemplated against him.

As per sources, Madhunimai is being suspended for his alleged activities beyond his authority. The order stated that he is placed under suspension with immediate effect by the governor of Manipur, in exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 10(1)(a) of the CCS (CCA) Rules 1965.

During the period of suspension, the headquarters of N Madhunimai Singh shall be Imphal and he shall not leave the said headquarters without obtaining permission of the competent authority, it added.
