Manipur Chief Minister N Biren on Saturday denied any relationships or link with SoO groups stating that it is their own individual stand and that the BJP has nothing to do with it.
"That might be their opinion. We don’t have any persuasion and we don’t have any connection with any SoO groups or anything and that might be their own individual stand and what can I do? " said chief minister when the media asked him regarding some Kuki militant groups openly supporting the BJP candidate for the coming election.
In two different releases issued by the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), they mentioned that they will be supporting all the BJP candidates for the coming election in their respective operative areas. Both the outfits also cautioned any person or organisation acting contrary to the appeal will be taken as against the Kuki interest.
The chief minister said that in the last five years of the BJP-led government in Manipur, the gap between the people of hills and valleys has been decreased and the cohesive relationship among different communities has been getting better. With this, peace and development has been instant in the last five years of the BJP-led government which are the main achievements of the government, he added.
This is the time to reciprocate to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he has served for the state by winning over 40 seats in the coming election. Biren expressed confidence that the BJP will form its own government.
