Manipur: Churachandpur DC inspects relief camps

The DC encouraged the IDPs to take more active initiative on skills development such as handicrafts and other products to support themselves.

Over the past two days, Churachandpur DC Dharun Kumar and his subordinates were on inspection sprees at different relief camps sheltering Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at various locations, mostly in the suburbs of Churachandpur town.

The DC, accompanied by Seiminthang, ADM and Churachandpur SDO Lalthazam and others, visited seven relief camps on Tuesday at Ngoiphai, Mata IFCD, Vungzagen Hr Secondary School, Lanva TD Block, Thingkangphai Community Hall, Teddim Chiin Inpi and YPA Hall, Dorcas Veng of New Lamka.

During the inspections, the DC interacted with the inmates, especially children and assured that he will do his best within his capabilities to improve the living conditions of the inmates and IDPs.

The DC also encouraged the IDPs to take more active initiative on skills development such as handicrafts and other products to support themselves. He also assured help  from the government to sustain their livelihood in the future.
