The Manipur cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday decided to present a Vote on Account for the first four months for the financial year 2024-25.
The meeting also approved the Budget Estimates 2024-25 besides the Comptroller and Auditor General report in the coming Assembly session which is scheduled to begin on February 28.
Briefing the media after the cabinet meeting, at his residence at Lamphel, Sanakeithel, Imphal West, IPR Minister Sapam Ranjan announced that the cabinet meeting was held in connection with the coming state assembly session.
Budget related agendas were listed for the meeting, he said. Revised Budget Estimate 2023-24, Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Fifth Amendment Bill), 2024 were the approved agendas which were decided to be placed in the Assembly, he said. The Sixth Amendment Bill, 2024 of Manipur Good and Service Taxes was also approved to be laid in the assembly, he mentioned.
To comply with the Supreme Court judgment of Second National Judicial Pay Commission for payment of allowance to Manipur Judicial Services was approved to be placed in the assembly, he further said.
The cabinet also decided to place the Manipur Labour Laws (Exemption from Renewal of Registration and Licence by establishment) Manipur, Bill 2024 in the Manipur Legislative Assembly for enactment as an Act, he mentioned.
In the unlisted agendas, the cabinet also gave approval for creating the posts of professor and associate professor in College of Nursing (health institution) to fulfill Indian Medical Council guidelines.
The cabinet also decided to establish a super speciality branch at JNIMS for Pulmonary medicine and critical care.
He further announced that all the judgements of the High Court of Manipur can be translated in Manipuri script. For that, a registrar translation wing will be created, he said.
The cabinet also approved to open an Automated Testing Station at Imphal East following All India Directive. For the station, the government has decided to buy land at Telou Tera Makhong Sawombung for about 3.77 acres, he said.
The cabinet has also approved the extension of service for project director Y Joykumar of PWD; commissioner of PHES, veterinary director and LDA project director.
Retired EE of Engineering Cell Health and Family Welfare, S Geeta is also approved to extend her service as consultant architect of health and family welfare, he added.
