In an alarming incident, a white polythene bag suspected to be a bomb was discovered near the residence of Sarungbam Santikumar Singh, son of S Nabachandra Singh at Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai, Imphal West on Tuesday.  

The 60-year-old resident reported the alarming find to the Imphal Police Station. Responding swiftly, officer-in-charge Imphal Police station requested the Superintendent of Police CID (Tech), Manipur, Imphal, to deploy an expert team from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BD&DS) to assess the potential threat.

Authorities are actively coordinating to ensure the safety of the area and its residents at the time of filing this report.
