The residence belonged to one Alhaj Aribam Nasimuddin alias Yaima, 68, son of late Md Rahimuddin. The bomb was discovered by Nasimmuding himself around 4.45 am. A team led by OC Mayang Imphal Police Station Nabajiban arrived for a spot inquiry. A team of bomb experts arrived around 2.15 pm and picked the bomb.

Vehemently condemning the incident, the womenfolk of Irong Khunou staged a protest where the daughter-in-law of Alhaj Nasimuddin, Samiya, stated that their family had been serving the public and living a simple lifestyle. They are extremely unhappy by the frequent incident of planting bombs at their residence, she said.

She recalled that a similar incident had happened in 2006, and appealed not to repeat such acts in the future. Seeking clarifications on why the bomb was planted and who did it, she further appealed to the authorities concerned to let the family and the locality live in peace.
