The BJP Manipur Pradesh has refuted the allegation made by the Congress in connection with ongoing crisis in Manipur.
BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson M Ashnikumar Singh reaffirmed the governance agenda of the party led by PM Modi, emphasizing its commitment to the principle of ‘Antyodaya,’ which prioritizes the upliftment of marginalized individuals within the socio-economic strata.
Spokesperson Ashnikumar said that former chief minister Okram Ibobi allegedly blaming the BJP government as an instigator of the present Manipur crisis is unfortunate. Ibobi claimed the involvement of a hidden agenda in Manipur’s current state, he informed.
Ashnikumar Singh criticized what he perceived as a disregard for the hardships faced by the people of Manipur during Ibobi Singh’s tenure. Ashnikumar accused Ibobi Singh and the Congress party of exploiting Manipur’s unrest for personal and party gains, citing instances of extrajudicial killings and other grievances under Congress rule.

Such a statement is baseless and unacceptable, said Ashnikumar, stating that understanding the current atmosphere of conflict and sentiment of people, BJP is committed to resolve the issue amicably.
The BJP spokesperson pointed to the party’s efforts in removing the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) from most parts of the state, signalling a new era of hope, peace, prosperity, and progress. He contrasted this with what he described as rampant corruption, extortion, and mistreatment of Manipuri during the Congress regime.
A BJP spokesperson underscored the BJP’s position as the world’s largest political party, attributing this to the trust bestowed upon them by millions. He highlighted the party’s relentless pursuit of a vision for a more progressive and unified society.
He urged the Manipur Congress to reflect on their past policies, which he claimed contributed to the present conflicts.
Ashnikumar highlighted the BJP government’s initiatives aimed at promoting development and inclusivity in Manipur, including support for young entrepreneurs, financial inclusion, and the empowerment of women and artisans.
He also referenced schemes like the Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), which benefited supporters of the Congress party as well. He accused the Congress party of resorting to lies and propaganda, contrasting this with the BJP’s promotion of Manipur’s rich culture, traditions, and history.
He cited the renaming of Mount Harriet to Mount Manipur by Home Minister Amit Shah as a tribute to Manipur’s freedom fighters. He also criticized the Congress party’s track record, alleging a lack of commitment to the progress and prosperity of Manipur.
