The Congress party should respond to the public why illegal immigrants are attacking Manipuris if the SoO ground rules were properly implemented during the then Congress government, said state BJP president A Sharda Devi.
She made the query to the Congress party through the media at the conference hall of state BJP office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal on Saturday.
She said, people of Manipur have already witnessed how the militants under SoO agreement follow the ground rules which were signed during the then Congress government.
Sharda said the peace convention that was conducted on Friday at Congress office is irrelevant with the present situation. The convention was conducted to defame the BJP party in front of the public and it is unfortunate, she added.
At this present juncture the government has been taking various steps to protect the territorial boundary of Manipur. If the process of tripartite talk conducted among central government, state and Kuki militants in 2005-08 was false, then why the then Congress government tried to rectify it during their period, she asked.
The convention that was conducted at the state Congress office is irrelevant with the present situation as it was conducted to get political mileage by taking advantage of the present crisis, she added.
