Scrutiny for the second phase of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election in three assembly constituencies of Tamenglong district was held at mini secretariat, Tamenglong on Monday.
In Tamei assembly constituency, Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate Awangbow Newmai; National People's Party (NPP) candidate Z Kikhonbou; Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Wilubou Newmai and Indian National Congress (INC) candidate GN Kumuiteung alias Aku appeared before Tamenglong returning officer for scrutiny.
As there was no complaint among the candidates, they were declared fit for contesting in the free and fair election in their assembly constituency.
In Tamenglong assembly constituency, Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate Khangthuanang Panmei; National People's Party (NPP) candidate Janghemlung Panmei; Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Huri Golmei and Janata Dal United (JD-U) candidate Samuel Jendai appeared before the returning officer Tamenglong for scrutiny. They were declared fit for contesting in the Tamenglong assembly constituency.
In Nungba assembly constituency, only two candidates, including Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Gaikhangam and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Dinganlung Gangmei had filed nomination papers and their scrutiny was held at the office of the returning officer.
After scrutiny, general observer Ryntihlang Rapthap, police observer Jasbir Singh and expenditure observer Dharmvir D Yadav along with two returning officers Hungyo Worshang and Ningreigam had interacted with all the candidates contesting in the three assembly constituencies at the conference hall of DC Tamenglong.
