The Police Control Room, Manipur Police on Tuesday stated that during the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was under control.
Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts, stated a release.
On Sunday, Security Forces destroyed a village volunteer training camp in the general area of Lokchao, Tengnoupal district, it stated.
During the operations, one 40mm unserviceable grenade launcher, two local made improvised grenade launchers, four Pumpi, six local bombs, 20 wooden dummy guns and four IEDs were recovered from the camp, it mentioned.
A case has been registered for further investigation in this regard, it stated.
It further stated that the movement of 345 and 277 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-02 respectively with essential items have been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and a security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, it stated.
A total of 131 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different Districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 272 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it mentioned.
It appealed to the general public not to believe in rumours and be aware of false videos. Any circulation of unfounded videos etc. may be confirmed from the rumour free number - 9233522822 of Central Control room. Further, an appeal is made to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately, it added.
